Mr Koh used two printers with different printing rates for a printing job. He started Printer J at 20 00 and started Printer K two minutes later. He stopped both printers at 20 05. The graphs show the total number of pages printed by each printer from the start of printing.

1. How many pages had been printed by Printer J at the time Mr Koh started Printer K?
2. What was the difference in the number of pages printed by the two printers from 20 00 to 20 05?
3. Which printer, J or K, has a faster printing rate? What is the difference in the number of pages printed by the printers in one minute? Give your answer in this format. (Eg A, 1)

At 20 02, number of pages that Printer J printed = 120

(b)
Number of pages printed by Printer J from 20 00 to 20 05
= 300

Number of pages printed by Printer K from 20 00 to 20 05
= 210

Difference in the number of pages printed by the two printers from 20 00 to 20 05
= 300 - 210
= 90

(c)
Printing rate of Printer J
= 300 ÷ 5
= 60

Printing rate of Printer K
= 210 ÷ 3
= 70 (Faster)

Difference in the number of pages printed by the printers in one minute
= 70 - 60
= 10
