Let 1 B be 1 blue bag.
Let 1 V be 1 violet bag.
5 u = 10 B
1 u = 2 B --- (1)
1 u = 28 V --- (2)
(1) = (2)
2 B = 28 V
1 B = 28 ÷ 2 = 14 V
1 B + 2 V = 144 --- (3)
Substitute 1 B = 14 V into (3).
14 V + 2 V = 144
16 V = 144
1 V = 144 ÷ 16 = 9

1 u = 28 V
1 u = 28 x 9 = 252
Number of chocolate bars that Jane had at first
= 5 u + 1 u
= 6 u
= 6 x 252
