56 of the chocolate bars into 10 blue bags and the rest into 10 violet bags. There were 81 chocolate bars altogether in 1 blue and 4 violet bags. How many chocolate bars did Nicole have at first?

Let 1 B be 1 blue bag.
Let 1 V be 1 violet bag.
5 u = 10 B
1 u = 2 B --- (1)
1 u = 10 V --- (2)
(1) = (2)
2 B = 10 V
1 B = 10 ÷ 2 = 5 V
1 B + 4 V = 81 --- (3)
Substitute 1 B = 5 V into (3).
5 V + 4 V = 81
9 V = 81
1 V = 81 ÷ 9 = 9

1 u = 10 V
1 u = 10 x 9 = 90
Number of chocolate bars that Nicole had at first
= 5 u + 1 u
= 6 u
= 6 x 90
