A grocer had the same number of grapefruits, chikoos and lemons at first. After 118 lemons, some grapefruits and chikoos were set aside, there were 91 fruits left. 5 u - 30 |
91 |
Total number of fruits in the end
= 5 u + 1 u + 5 u - 30
= 11 u - 30
11 u - 30 = 91
11 u = 91 + 30
11 u = 121
1 u = 121 ÷ 11 = 11
Number of lemons at first
= 5 u - 30 + 118
= 5 x 11 - 30 + 118
= 55 - 30 + 118
= 143
The number of chikoos and lemons at first was the same.
Number of chikoos set aside
= 143 - 1 u
= 143 - 11
= 132
