Kylie had two ribbons of the same length. She cut the first ribbon into equal parts of length 20 cm and to each part she tied 2 silver heart cutouts. After that, she cut the second ribbon into equal parts of length 35 cm and to each part she tied 4 black heart cutouts. When she finished tying, she counted that there were 8 more black heart cutouts than silver heart cutouts. How many heart cutouts were there altogether?

Number of sets of 2 silver heart cutouts in a length of 140 cm
= 140 ÷ 20
= 7

Number of silver heart cutouts in a length of 140 cm
= 7 x 2
= 14

Number of sets of 4 black heart cutouts in a length of 140 cm
= 140 ÷ 35
= 4

Number of black heart cutouts in a length of 140 cm
= 4 x 4
= 16

Extra number of black heart cutouts in a length of 140 cm
= 16 - 14
= 2

Number of sets of heart cutouts
= 8 ÷ 2
= 4

Total number of heart cutouts in one set of 140 cm of silver balloons and one set of 140 cm of black balloons
= 14 + 16
= 30

Total number of heart cutouts of the two ribbons
= 4 x 30
= 120
