Gabby had two streamers of the same length. She cut the first streamer into equal parts of length 50 cm and to each part she tied 2 blue cartoon cutouts. After that, she cut the second streamer into equal parts of length 60 cm and to each part she tied 4 brown cartoon cutouts. When she finished tying, she counted that there were 24 more brown cartoon cutouts than blue cartoon cutouts. How many cartoon cutouts were there altogether?

LCM of 50 and 60 = 300

Number of sets of 2 blue cartoon cutouts in a length of 300 cm
= 300 ÷ 50
= 6

Number of blue cartoon cutouts in a length of 300 cm
= 6 x 2
= 12

Number of sets of 4 brown cartoon cutouts in a length of 300 cm
= 300 ÷ 60
= 5

Number of brown cartoon cutouts in a length of 300 cm
= 5 x 4
= 20

Extra number of brown cartoon cutouts in a length of 300 cm
= 20 - 12
= 8

Number of sets of cartoon cutouts
= 24 ÷ 8
= 3

Total number of cartoon cutouts in one set of 300 cm of blue balloons and one set of 300 cm of brown balloons
= 12 + 20
= 32

Total number of cartoon cutouts of the two streamers
= 3 x 32
= 96
