2 respectively. Water was poured into an empty rectangular Tank B until it reached a height of 41 cm. Some of the water was then poured from Tank B into Tank C which contained 2.1 ℓ of water until the height of the water in both tanks were the same.

3 Total volume of Tank B and Tank C
= 143500 + 2100
= 145600 cm
3 Total base area of Tank B and Tank C
= 3500 + 1500
= 5000 cm²
Height of Tank B after
= 145600 ÷ 5000
= 29.12 cm

Volume of water in Tank C after pouring
= 1500 x 29.12
= 43680 cm
3 Volume of water poured into Tank C
= 43680 - 1500
= 42180 cm
