1 m = 100 cm
1.4 m = 140 cm
Width of one rectangle box
= 140 ÷ 2
= 70 cm
Length of the box = 1 u
Height of Figure A = 3 u + 46
Height of Figure B = 1 u + 4 x 70 + 10
The height of Figure A is equal to the height of Figure B.
3 u + 46 = 1 u + 4 x 70 + 10
2 u + 46 = 290
2 u = 290 - 46
2 u = 244
1 u = 244 ÷ 2 = 122
Width of the gap at the side of the cupboard
= 140 - 122
= 18 cm
= 0.18 m

= 3 x 122 + 46
= 366 + 46
= 412 cm
= 4.12 m
