In a supermarkets,
58 of the customers were women. Within five minutes, 66 more women and 20 more men entered the supermarkets. As a result, there were 90 more women than men. How many customers were there altogether in the end?
|
Women |
Men |
Before |
5 u |
3 u |
Change |
+ 66 |
+ 20 |
After |
5 u + 66 |
3 u + 20 |
If there are another 90 men in the end, the number of men and women will be the same.
5 u + 66 = 3 u + 20 + 90
5 u - 3 u = 110 - 66
2 u = 44
1 u = 44 ÷ 2 = 22
Number of customers in the end
= 5 u + 66 + 3 u + 20
= 8 u + 86
= 8 x 22 + 86
= 176 + 86
= 262
