Volume of water in the pot = 1 u
Volume of water in the pail = 1 u + 4.7
Total volume of water
= 1 u + 1 u + 4.7
= 2 u + 4.7
Total volume of water
= 2 x 5
= 10 ℓ
When water is poured from the pail to the pot, the total volume remains unchanged.
2 u + 4.7 = 10
2 u = 10 - 4.7
2 u = 5.3
1 u = 5.3 ÷ 2 = 2.65
Volume of water in the pot at first = 2.65 ℓ
Answer(s): 2.65 ℓ
