Jade bought 22 kiwis and 12 passion fruits on Sunday. Each day, she ate 3 kiwis and 1 passion fruit. She started eating her fruits on Monday.

The number of passion fruits and kiwis in the end is equal.

22 - 3 u = 12 - 1 u

1 u = 10 ÷ 2 = 5

Jade ate for 5 days from Monday onwards.  At the end of Friday, there would be an equal number of kiwis and passion fruits left.

Number of days from Monday to Saturday = 6

Number of kiwis left on Saturday
= 22 - (3 x 6)
= 22 - 18
= 4

Number of passion fruits left on Saturday
= 12 - (1 x 6)
= 12 - 6
= 6

= 2
