Winnie ate for 4 days from Monday onwards.  At the end of Thursday, there would be an equal number of starfruits and persimmons left.

Number of starfruits left on Friday
= 28 - (5 x 5)
= 28 - 25
= 3

Number of persimmons left on Friday
= 12 - (1 x 5)
= 12 - 5
