At a supermarket, there were
13 as many dragonfruits as chikoos. After 6 dragonfruits and 20 chikoos were sold, the number of dragonfruits became the same as the number of chikoos. How many fruits were at the supermarket in the end?
|
Dragonfruits |
Chikoos |
Before |
1 u |
3 u |
Change |
- 6 |
- 20 |
After |
1 u - 6 |
3 u - 20 |
Number of dragonfruits and chikoos in the end is the same.
3 u - 20 = 1 u - 6
3 u - 1 u = 20 - 6
2 u = 14
1 u = 14 ÷ 2 = 7
Number of fruits in the end
= 1 u - 6 + 3 u - 20
= 4 u - 26
= 4 x 7 - 26
= 28 - 26
= 2
