Mrs Reggie bought a vest and a bracelet at a discount. She spent a total of $92.90 on these two items. She spent $49.50 more on the bracelet than on the vest.

1. How much did she spend on the bracelet?
2. The total discount given for the two items was $27.10. She was given a 30% discount for the vest. What was the percentage discount given for the bracelet?

Amount spent on the vest = 1 u
Amount spent on the bracelet = 1 u + 49.50

Total amount spent on the vest and the bracelet
= 1 u + 1 u + 49.50
= 2 u + 49.50

2 u + 49.50 = 92.90
2 u = 92.90 - 49.50
2 u = 43.40

1 u = 43.40 ÷ 2 = 21.70

Amount that Mrs Reggie spent on the bracelet
= 21.70 + 49.50
= $71.20
