Mrs Vincent bought a blazer and a bracelet at a discount. She spent a total of $83.70 on these two items. She spent $36.90 more on the bracelet than on the blazer.

1. How much did she spend on the bracelet?
2. The total discount given for the two items was $9.30. She was given a 10% discount for the blazer. What was the percentage discount given for the bracelet?

Amount spent on the bracelet = 1 u + 36.90

Total amount spent on the blazer and the bracelet
= 1 u + 1 u + 36.90
= 2 u + 36.90

2 u + 36.90 = 83.70
2 u = 83.70 - 36.90
2 u = 46.80

1 u = 46.80 ÷ 2 = 23.40

Amount that Mrs Vincent spent on the bracelet
= 23.40 + 36.90
= $60.30
