Upon reaching the end of the path, Yen rested for 4 minutes. She then immediately ran back along the same route at 3 m/s. At 8.30 a.m., Cindy met Yen.

= 2 x 1800
= 3600 m

Distance that Yen ran
= 3 x 1560
= 4680 m

Distance that Cindy and Yen ran
= 3600 + 4680
= 8280 m

8280 m = 8280 ÷ 1000 = 8.28 km
