Distance that Penelope had travelled until Penelope overtook Will
= 4 x 75
= 300 km

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. = 5 h

Will's average speed
= 300 ÷ 5
= 60 km/h

(b)
From 10 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. = 3 h 20 min

1 h = 60 min
3 h 20 min = 3 ²⁰ ₆₀
 h = 3 ¹₃ h

Distance between the two cities
= 3 ¹₃ x 75
= ¹⁰₃ x 75
= 250 km
