- What container contains the least amount of water? Give your answer in number. (Eg 1)
- How many more bottles does the pail contain than the pitcher?
- If each bottle contains 1 ℓ, how many litres does the pail has?
- How many ℓ does the pail and pitcher have?
(a)
The container which contains the least amount of water is the glass (2).
(b)
Number of bottles that the pail can contain = 10
Number of bottles that the pitcher can contain = 6
Number of bottles that the pail can contain more than the pitcher
= 10 - 6
= 4
(c)
Volume that the pail can hold
= 1 x 10
= 10 ℓ
(d)
Volume that the pail and the pitcher can hold
= (6 + 10) x 1
= 16 x 1
= 16 ℓ
Answer(s): (a) 2; (b) 4; (c) 10 ℓ; (d) 16 ℓ
