Fred and Sam started jogging from the same point. Sam started jogging 8 minutes earlier than Fred. Fred's jogging speed was 500 m/min and Sam's jogging speed was 300 m/min. They went in the same direction and did not change their speeds throughout.

= 2400 ÷ 200

Time that Sam would had jogged when Fred caught up with him
= 12 + 8
= 20 min

Distance that Sam would have jogged when Fred caught up with him
= 20 x 300
= 6000 m
