The total number of banana sandwiches made up 45% of the total number of sandwiches they made. How many banana sandwiches did they make altogether?

Number of cherry sandwiches in percent
= 100% - 45%
= 55%

1 u + 107 + 1 p = 45% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 167 = 55% --- (2)

55% - 45% = 167 - 107
10% = 60

1% = 60 ÷ 10 = 6

Number of banana sandwiches that they made altogether
= 45%
= 45 x 6
