Natalie made 147 more chocolate chip croissants than cherry croissants. The total number of cherry croissants made up 45% of the total number of croissants they made. How many chocolate chip croissants did they make altogether?

Number of chocolate chip croissants in percent
= 100% - 45%
= 55%

1 u + 127 + 1 p = 45% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 147 = 55% --- (2)

55% - 45% = 147 - 127
10% = 20

1% = 20 ÷ 10 = 2
