The total number of cranberry buns made up 30% of the total number of buns they made. How many apricot buns did they make altogether?

Number of cranberry buns = 1 u + 19

Marion
Number of cranberry buns = 1 p
Number of apricot buns = 1 p + 99

Number of apricot buns in percent
= 100% - 30%
= 70%

1 u + 19 + 1 p = 30% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 99 = 70% --- (2)

70% - 30% = 99 - 19
40% = 80

1% = 80 ÷ 40 = 2

Number of apricot buns that they made altogether
= 70%
= 70 x 2
= 140
