Tina and Jean made some chocolate chip muffins and strawberry muffins. Tina made 100 more chocolate chip muffins than strawberry muffins. Jean made 160 more strawberry muffins than chocolate chip muffins. The total number of chocolate chip muffins made up 35% of the total number of muffins they made. How many strawberry muffins did they make altogether?

Number of chocolate chip muffins = 1 u + 100

Jean
Number of chocolate chip muffins = 1 p
Number of strawberry muffins = 1 p + 160

Number of strawberry muffins in percent
= 100% - 35%
= 65%

1 u + 100 + 1 p = 35% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 160 = 65% --- (2)

(2) - (1)
65% - 35% = 160 - 100
30% = 60

1% = 60 ÷ 30 = 2

Number of strawberry muffins that they made altogether
= 65%
= 65 x 2
= 130
