Yoko made 166 more apricot croissants than cranberry croissants. The total number of cranberry croissants made up 45% of the total number of croissants they made. How many cranberry croissants did they make altogether?

Number of cranberry croissants = 1 u + 76

Yoko
Number of cranberry croissants = 1 p
Number of apricot croissants = 1 p + 166

Number of apricot croissants in percent
= 100% - 45%
= 55%

1 u + 76 + 1 p = 45% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 166 = 55% --- (2)

55% - 45% = 166 - 76
10% = 90

1% = 90 ÷ 10 = 9
