Ivory and Hazel made some chocolate chip puffs and cranberry puffs. Ivory made 72 more chocolate chip puffs than cranberry puffs. Hazel made 162 more cranberry puffs than chocolate chip puffs. The total number of chocolate chip puffs made up 35% of the total number of puffs they made. How many chocolate chip puffs did they make altogether?

Number of cranberry puffs = 1 u
Number of chocolate chip puffs = 1 u + 72

Hazel
Number of chocolate chip puffs = 1 p
Number of cranberry puffs = 1 p + 162

Number of cranberry puffs in percent
= 100% - 35%
= 65%

1 u + 72 + 1 p = 35% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 162 = 65% --- (2)

65% - 35% = 162 - 72
30% = 90

1% = 90 ÷ 30 = 3

Number of chocolate chip puffs that they made altogether
= 35%
= 35 x 3
= 105
