Anna made 176 more chocolate chip croissants than strawberry croissants. The total number of strawberry croissants made up 45% of the total number of croissants they made. How many chocolate chip croissants did they make altogether?

Number of chocolate chip croissants in percent
= 100% - 45%
= 55%

1 u + 96 + 1 p = 45% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 176 = 55% --- (2)

55% - 45% = 176 - 96
10% = 80

1% = 80 ÷ 10 = 8

Number of chocolate chip croissants that they made altogether
= 55%
= 55 x 8
