Lucy and Kathy made some apple croissants and cheese croissants. Lucy made 10 more apple croissants than cheese croissants. Kathy made 80 more cheese croissants than apple croissants. The total number of apple croissants made up 45% of the total number of croissants they made. How many apple croissants did they make altogether?

Number of apple croissants = 1 u + 10

Number of apple croissants = 1 p
Number of cheese croissants = 1 p + 80

Number of cheese croissants in percent
= 100% - 45%
= 55%

1 u + 1 p + 80 = 55% --- (2)

10% = 70

1% = 70 ÷ 10 = 7
