The total number of apricot muffins made up 44% of the total number of muffins they made. How many vanilla muffins did they make altogether?

Number of vanilla muffins in percent
= 100% - 44%
= 56%

1 u + 19 + 1 p = 44% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 139 = 56% --- (2)

56% - 44% = 139 - 19
12% = 120

1% = 120 ÷ 12 = 10

Number of vanilla muffins that they made altogether
= 56%
= 56 x 10
