Olivia made 194 more chocolate chip croissants than strawberry croissants. The total number of strawberry croissants made up 45% of the total number of croissants they made. How many chocolate chip croissants did they make altogether?

Number of chocolate chip croissants in percent
= 100% - 45%
= 55%

1 u + 144 + 1 p = 45% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 194 = 55% --- (2)

55% - 45% = 194 - 144
10% = 50

1% = 50 ÷ 10 = 5

Number of chocolate chip croissants that they made altogether
= 55%
