The total number of vanilla muffins made up 33% of the total number of muffins they made. How many vanilla muffins did they make altogether?

Number of vanilla muffins = 1 u + 35

Xylia

Number of cranberry muffins = 1 p + 137

Number of cranberry muffins in percent
= 100% - 33%
= 67%

1 u + 35 + 1 p = 33% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 137 = 67% --- (2)

67% - 33% = 137 - 35
34% = 102

1% = 102 ÷ 34 = 3

Number of vanilla muffins that they made altogether
= 33%
