Xandra and Anna made some apricot buns and blueberry buns. Xandra made 35 more apricot buns than blueberry buns. Anna made 135 more blueberry buns than apricot buns. The total number of apricot buns made up 40% of the total number of buns they made. How many blueberry buns did they make altogether?

Number of blueberry buns = 1 u
Number of apricot buns = 1 u + 35

Anna
Number of apricot buns = 1 p
Number of blueberry buns = 1 p + 135

Number of blueberry buns in percent
= 100% - 40%
= 60%

1 u + 35 + 1 p = 40% --- (1)
1 u + 1 p + 135 = 60% --- (2)

60% - 40% = 135 - 35
20% = 100

1% = 100 ÷ 20 = 5

Number of blueberry buns that they made altogether
= 60%
= 60 x 5
= 300
