Min bought some bags of apples. Each bag contained 9 apples. The total number of apples Min bought was less than 60. Min ate 5 apples and gave the rest equally to her 7 friends.

1. How many apples did Min buy?
2. How many apples did Min give to each friend?

The total number of apples is the multiples of 9 since each bag contained 9 apples.
Multiples of 9: 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54

The total number of apples given to the 7 friends is the multiples of 7 since there were 7 friends.
Multiples of 7: 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56

The total number of apples is the multiples of 7 with an added 5 apples since Min ate 5 apples.
Multiples of 7 (+5): 12, 19, 26, 33, 40, 47, 54, 61

Number of apples that Min bought = 54

= (54 - 5) ÷ 7
= 49 ÷ 7
