Yen bought some bags of mangosteens. Each bag contained 6 mangosteens. The total number of mangosteens Yen bought was less than 60. Yen ate 4 mangosteens and gave the rest equally to her 5 friends.

The total number of mangosteens is the multiples of 6 since each bag contained 6 mangosteens.
Multiples of 6: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54

The total number of mangosteens given to the 5 friends is the multiples of 5 since there were 5 friends.
Multiples of 5: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55

The total number of mangosteens is the multiples of 5 with an added 4 mangosteens since Yen ate 4 mangosteens.
Multiples of 5 (+4): 9, 14, 19, 24, 29, 34, 39, 44, 49, 54, 59

Number of mangosteens that Yen bought = 54
