Sarah bought some bags of starfruits. Each bag contained 9 starfruits. The total number of starfruits Sarah bought was less than 60. Sarah ate 4 starfruits and gave the rest equally to her 5 friends.

The total number of starfruits is the multiples of 9 since each bag contained 9 starfruits.
Multiples of 9: 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54

The total number of starfruits given to the 5 friends is the multiples of 5 since there were 5 friends.
Multiples of 5: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55

The total number of starfruits is the multiples of 5 with an added 4 starfruits since Sarah ate 4 starfruits.
Multiples of 5 (+4): 9, 14, 19, 24, 29, 34, 39, 44, 49, 54, 59

Number of starfruits that Sarah bought = 54
