Eva bought some bags of pomegranates. Each bag contained 5 pomegranates. The total number of pomegranates Eva bought was less than 50. Eva ate 3 pomegranates and gave the rest equally to her 6 friends.

The total number of pomegranates is the multiples of 5 since each bag contained 5 pomegranates.
Multiples of 5: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45

The total number of pomegranates given to the 6 friends is the multiples of 6 since there were 6 friends.
Multiples of 6: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48

The total number of pomegranates is the multiples of 6 with an added 3 pomegranates since Eva ate 3 pomegranates.
Multiples of 6 (+3): 9, 15, 21, 27, 33, 39, 45, 51

Number of pomegranates that Eva bought = 45
