Kathy had to sew 153 skirts. She sewed 7 skirts each day from Monday to Friday and 10 each day on Saturday and Sunday. Starting on a Thursday, on which day of the week did Kathy finish sewing all the skirts? Give your answer in number. (Eg Mon = 1)
Number of weekdays that Kathy sewed on the first week = 2

Number of skirts that Kathy completed for from Thursday to Sunday on the first week
= 2 x 7 + 2 x 10 
= 14 + 20
= 34

Number of skirts left to sew
= 153 - 34
= 119

Number of skirts that Kathy could sew per week from second week onwards
= 5 x 7 + 2 x 10
= 35 + 20
= 55

Number of weeks that Kathy needed to sew 119 skirts
= 119 ÷ 55
= 2 r 9

Number of days that Kathy needed to sew 9 skirts
= 9 ÷ 7
= 1 r 2

Kathy needed 1 more day to finish sewing the remaining 2 skirts.
