They collected $4 for a small cup of hot chocolate and $7 for a big cup of hot chocolate.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team V sold as many cups of hot chocolate as Team X but collected $21 less. How many small cups of hot chocolate did Team X sell?

= 14 x 4 + 8 x 7
= 56 + 56
= $112

Amount collected by Team W
= 7 x 4 + 11 x 7
= 28 + 77
= $105

Team U collected the least money.

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team X
= 7 - 4
= $3

Number of extra big cups sold by Team X
= 21 ÷ 3
= 7

Number of small cups sold by Team X
= 14 - 7
= 7
