They collected $5 for a small cup of soda and $8 for a big cup of soda.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team L sold as many cups of soda as Team N but collected $12 less. How many small cups of soda did Team N sell?

Amount collected by Team L
= 13 x 5 + 8 x 8
= 65 + 64
= $129

Amount collected by Team M
= 7 x 5 + 11 x 8
= 35 + 88
= $123

Team K collected the least money.

Since Team L and Team N sold the same number of cups but Team L collected $12 less, it means that Team N sold more big cups than Team L.

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team N
= 8 - 5
= $3

Number of extra big cups sold by Team N
= 12 ÷ 3
= 4

Number of small cups sold by Team N
= 13 - 4
= 9
