They collected $3 for a small cup of lemonade and $6 for a big cup of lemonade.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team J sold as many cups of lemonade as Team L but collected $18 less. How many small cups of lemonade did Team L sell?

= $78

Amount collected by Team J
= 14 x 3 + 9 x 6
= 42 + 54
= $96

Amount collected by Team K
= 8 x 3 + 10 x 6
= 24 + 60
= $84

Team H collected the least money.

Since Team J and Team L sold the same number of cups but Team J collected $18 less, it means that Team L sold more big cups than Team J.

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team L
= 6 - 3
= $3

Number of extra big cups sold by Team L
= 18 ÷ 3
= 6

Number of small cups sold by Team L
= 14 - 6
= 8
