They collected $4 for a small cup of hot chocolate and $7 for a big cup of hot chocolate.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team N sold as many cups of hot chocolate as Team Q but collected $12 less. How many small cups of hot chocolate did Team Q sell?

= 14 x 4 + 8 x 7
= 56 + 56
= $112

Amount collected by Team P
= 10 x 4 + 10 x 7
= 40 + 70
= $110

Team M collected the least money.

Since Team N and Team Q sold the same number of cups but Team N collected $12 less, it means that Team Q sold more big cups than Team N.

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team Q
= 7 - 4
= $3

Number of extra big cups sold by Team Q
= 12 ÷ 3
= 4

Number of small cups sold by Team Q
= 14 - 4
= 10
