They collected $5 for a small cup of french fries and $9 for a big cup of french fries.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team F sold as many cups of french fries as Team C but collected $8 more. How many big cups of french fries did Team F sell?

Amount collected by Team D
= 11 x 5 + 9 x 9
= 55 + 81
= $136

Amount collected by Team E
= 9 x 5 + 10 x 9
= 45 + 90
= $135

Team D collected the most money.

Since Team F and Team C sold the same number of cups but Team C collected $8 more, it means that Team F sold more big cups than Team C.

Difference in the total amount collected between Team F and Team C = $8

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team F
= 9 - 5
= $4

Number of extra big cups sold by Team F
= 8 ÷ 4
= 2

Number of big cups sold by Team F
= 3 + 2
= 5
