They collected $5 for a small cup of soda and $7 for a big cup of soda.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team Q sold as many cups of soda as Team S but collected $8 less. How many small cups of soda did Team S sell?

= 14 x 5 + 9 x 7
= 70 + 63

Amount collected by Team R
= 7 x 5 + 13 x 7
= 35 + 91
= $126

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team S
= 7 - 5
= $2

Number of extra big cups sold by Team S
= 8 ÷ 2
= 4

Number of small cups sold by Team S
= 14 - 4
= 10
