They collected $6 for a small cup of soda and $9 for a big cup of soda.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team D sold as many cups of soda as Team A but collected $12 more. How many big cups of soda did Team D sell?

= $126

Amount collected by Team B
= 13 x 6 + 7 x 9
= 78 + 63
= $141

Amount collected by Team C
= 8 x 6 + 10 x 9
= 48 + 90
= $138

Team B collected the most money.

Since Team D and Team A sold the same number of cups but Team A collected $12 more, it means that Team D sold more big cups than Team A.

Difference in the total amount collected between Team D and Team A = $12

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team D
= 9 - 6
= $3

Number of extra big cups sold by Team D
= 12 ÷ 3
= 4

Number of big cups sold by Team D
= 2 + 4
= 6
