They collected $5 for a small cup of french fries and $7 for a big cup of french fries.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team B sold as many cups of french fries as Team D but collected $10 less. How many small cups of french fries did Team D sell?

Amount collected by Team A = 90 + 21
= $111

Amount collected by Team B
= 11 x 5 + 9 x 7
= 55 + 63
= $118

Amount collected by Team C
= 9 x 5 + 10 x 7
= 45 + 70
= $115

Team A collected the least money.

Since Team B and Team D sold the same number of cups but Team B collected $10 less, it means that Team D sold more big cups than Team B.

Difference in the total amount collected between Team B and Team D = $10

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team D
= 7 - 5
= $2

Number of extra big cups sold by Team D
= 10 ÷ 2
= 5

Number of small cups sold by Team D
= 11 - 5
= 6
