They collected $5 for a small cup of soda and $8 for a big cup of soda.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team J sold as many cups of soda as Team F but collected $12 more. How many big cups of soda did Team J sell?

Amount collected by Team G
= 12 x 5 + 8 x 8
= 60 + 64
= $124

Amount collected by Team H
= 6 x 5 + 10 x 8
= 30 + 80
= $110

Since Team J and Team F sold the same number of cups but Team F collected $12 more, it means that Team J sold more big cups than Team F.

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team J
= 8 - 5
= $3

Number of extra big cups sold by Team J
= 12 ÷ 3
= 4

Number of big cups sold by Team J
= 2 + 4
= 6
