They collected $4 for a small cup of french fries and $7 for a big cup of french fries.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team D sold as many cups of french fries as Team F but collected $18 less. How many small cups of french fries did Team F sell?

Amount collected by Team D
= 13 x 4 + 9 x 7
= 52 + 63
= $115

Amount collected by Team E
= 6 x 4 + 10 x 7
= 24 + 70
= $94

Team C collected the least money.

Since Team D and Team F sold the same number of cups but Team D collected $18 less, it means that Team F sold more big cups than Team D.

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team F
= 7 - 4
= $3

Number of extra big cups sold by Team F
= 18 ÷ 3
= 6

Number of small cups sold by Team F
= 13 - 6
= 7
