They collected $8 for a small cup of french fries and $10 for a big cup of french fries.

The table shows the number of cups sold by three of the teams.

3. Team L sold as many cups of french fries as Team N but collected $16 less. How many small cups of french fries did Team N sell?

Amount collected by Team K = 120 + 30
= $150

Amount collected by Team L
= 14 x 8 + 7 x 10
= 112 + 70
= $182

Amount collected by Team M
= 10 x 8 + 10 x 10
= 80 + 100
= $180

Team K collected the least money.

Since Team L and Team N sold the same number of cups but Team L collected $16 less, it means that Team N sold more big cups than Team L.

Difference in the amount collected for every one extra big cup sold by Team N
= 10 - 8
= $2

Number of extra big cups sold by Team N
= 16 ÷ 2
= 8

Number of small cups sold by Team N
= 14 - 8
= 6
