Cost of 4 shirts
= 4 x 1 u
= 4 u

Cost of 1 skirt = 3 u

Cost of 1 skirt and 4 shirts
= 3 u + 4 u
= 7 u

Fraction of Abi's money spent on each shirt
= ¹₇ x ¹₃
= ¹₂₁

¹₃ of her money = 7 u
²₃ of her money = 2 x 7 u = 14 u

Abi's remaining money = 14 u

Cost of the ring
= ³₅ x 14 u
= 8.4 u

Amount that Abi spent more on the ring than on the 4 shirts
= 8.4 u - 4 u
= 4.4 u

4.4 u = 79.2

1 u = 79.2 ÷ 4.4 = 18

³₃ of her money = 3 x 7 u = 21 u

= 21 u
= 21 x 18
