Cost of 2 blazers
= 2 x 1 u

Cost of 1 skirt = 3 u

Cost of 1 skirt and 2 blazers
= 3 u + 2 u

Fraction of Pamela's money spent on each blazer
= ¹₅ x ¹₆
= ¹₃₀

¹₆ of her money = 5 u
⁵₆ of her money = 5 x 5 u = 25 u

Pamela's remaining money = 25 u

Cost of the ring
= ³₅ x 25 u
= 15 u

Amount that Pamela spent more on the ring than on the 2 blazers
= 15 u - 2 u
= 13 u

13 u = 221

1 u = 221 ÷ 13 = 17

⁶₆ of her money = 6 x 5 u = 30 u

= 30 u
