Cost of 4 dresses

Cost of 1 sweater = 2 u

Fraction of Fiona's money spent on each dress

= ¹₄₈

¹₈ of her money = 6 u
⁷₈ of her money = 7 x 6 u = 42 u

Fiona's remaining money = 42 u

Cost of the necklace
= ¹₂ x 42 u
= 21 u

Amount that Fiona spent more on the necklace than on the 4 dresses
= 21 u - 4 u
= 17 u

17 u = 374

1 u = 374 ÷ 17 = 22

⁸₈ of her money = 8 x 6 u = 48 u
